Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS)
Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) needed a way to encourage medical professionals to complete post-seminar surveys. These surveys provided valuable insights to improve their products, but the process often felt dull and unengaging, leading to low participation.

Goal
To make surveys as enjoyable as the seminars themselves, we designed a fun and effortless experience. Using moments of delight, responsive interactions, and friendly illustrations, we transformed the survey process into an engaging journey that felt quick and enjoyable, encouraging higher participation.
How might we make completing surveys as engaging and enjoyable, encouraging medical professionals to share valuable feedback effortlessly?
What i did
ART STYLE
Knowing that BMS is a large enterprise, I assumed they’d prefer a visual style that’s clear, approachable, and neutral. Inspired by animation directors like Nicolas Ménard, I created simple, clean sketches with abstract figures using line work for clarity. This minimalist style made the visuals easy to understand and simple to animate, letting interactions bring them to life. For colors, I stuck to the brand’s palette to keep everything cohesive.
INTERACTION/ANIMATION
I wanted the animations to feel fun, interactive, and energetic, creating moments of delight as users filled out the survey. My hope was to make the experience feel playful—like a game—where users could press buttons and slide meters just to enjoy the interactions. Using a mix of frame-by-frame animations and After Effects, I created motion elements that aligned with the specific questions in the survey.
RESPONSIVENESS
I also considered responsiveness to ensure the survey could be easily completed across different devices and screen sizes.
BREATHING ROOM
To make the experience less overwhelming, I included animations at the start and midway through the survey. These served as progress indicators and gave users a moment to pause before diving back into the more intellectually demanding questions.
FINAL RESULTS OF SURVEY
At the end of the survey, users could view the general results to see how others responded. This acted as a reward for completing the survey, offering educational insights. By incorporating a scrolling interaction, users could actively engage with the report and explore the results in a more dynamic and interactive way.
What I Could Do Better
Testing
I could spend more time testing the experience to make sure it feels smooth and intuitive for users.
Scalability
Setting up an illustration library and animation library would be a smart way to make updates easier and ensure everything stays consistent over time.
Design Features
Adding exit points would be helpful for users who might not have time to complete the whole survey in one go.
A progress bar could make the experience feel more manageable by showing users how far they’ve come.
Including a clear time estimate reassures users, sets their expectations, reduces early drop-offs, and encourages more engaged participation.
